Ideas need to be put into practice.
I am not interested in innovation for its own sake. What matters to me is what happens to a good idea when it meets real-world conditions.
In my previous leadership roles, I have built and developed organisations, introduced new approaches to funding and innovation, shaped international partnerships, and managed annual budgets of up to €25 million. Again and again, the challenge was to make complex issues understandable, bring different partners together, and turn an idea into a robust structure.
Technology has played an important role in this work for many years: from early forms of digital counselling against right-wing extremism, to new approaches to digital remembrance, data-driven platforms, and today’s wearable applications.
The key question remains the same for me: What truly makes a difference – and how can it be turned into a solution that works in practice?

Current Projects
ECHO80 - Making Remembrance Visible
ECHO80 is building a data-driven infrastructure for sites of remembrance dedicated to the victims of National Socialism. It brings scattered information together to create an accessible digital resource for education, research and public engagement.
This brings together my long-standing work on remembrance and democracy with a central question: how can data and digital technologies make knowledge more accessible in new ways? →
RYDAN – Intelligent Horse Monitoring
Together with my co-founders, I am developing RYDAN, a wearable system for continuous horse monitoring.
RYDAN combines sensor technology with movement and location data, translating it into clear, accessible insights. The aim is to identify changes in a horse’s everyday patterns earlier – in the stable, at pasture, during training and in transit.
The project brings together two worlds that have shaped my work for many years: hands-on experience with horses and the development of new technological solutions. →

How can digital communication and new forms of participation strengthen democratic processes?
DesignDemocracy explores new forms of communication, participation and decision-making – particularly where technological acceleration meets the need for thoughtful public dialogue and democratic deliberation.
